Hello to you, if got a big question on you and the other peoples here. I searched a few days about some good infos about the raiding spriest. I study a few of the named spriest in the arsenal and see that the most of them have a spellhast up to 350. I´ve got 2 questions. My critical % now by 17% and my spellhaste by 150. The only opponet in my raiding guild iss malygos. and i wanna now what iss your experience have you ? what can you say ?? my plan is to come to 20% unbuffed and then get everything in haste what you can get?? what do you said to this plan?? sorry for my bad english, sincerly altoex

High haste values are because of poor itemization on Blizzard's behalf. Even though crit is our preferred second stat, we often see that the items with very high spelldamage have haste (or even the horrible mp5) as a second stat.

Why so much haste? Because, even though there is no crit on those items, they are still very powerful.

my plan is to come to 20% unbuffed and then get everything in haste what you can get
This is a very bad idea for a number of reasons.

Going for benchmark values (either the ones you suggested or some other figures) is not the way of optimizing your damage output. The only benchmark value that is of importance is your hit rating. Other than that you need to make gearchoices based on the power of an item and not the effect it will have on your total % of haste or crit.

There are very good forums available that discuss raiding issues for spriests, try out:
www.shadowpriest.com (http://www.shadowpriest.com) This website covers everything about shadowpriests, for everyone
www.elitistjerks.com (http://www.elitistjerks.com) I strongly suggest you only have a look around on that website and do not post.

first of all i thank you very much, hitcaped iss the first stat i´m looking for. than i have a look about the spelldmg, crit and haste. but your answer iss if crit or haste iss not realy an choice, first looking about the hit and then the spelldmg thank you for this. i´ve looked before i asked here. in shadowpriest.com some answers tell the readers to go on crit after hit and spelldmg, and i was wondering why you dont have so much % on crit. i wish you a nice sunday and if there any problems i asked again. i wish you all the best and go on ,)

It is really interesting, but a rule of thumb is no to even think about haste and crit until you get your S-dmg to an acceptable level, S-dmg carriers everything that a SP has to offer, some argue that crit will = better S-dmg in the long run, however, it's no true, the more raw S-dmg you have their more balanced you will be overall.

I've personally found recently that stacking a lot of haste is very beneficial and having around 500 means I can fit 3 MF in my rotation, crit is good but it's only chance you will actually crit, I'd rather rely on facts than chances. coming back to S-dmg this illustrates why it is the most important aspect of any SP it's the core of your class. well that and hit! (hit being the most important ofc!)

I could be wrong, just what I think.
