Sonnen was never winning he only did so well the first fight because he was on roids and landed a punch silva never should of been stupid enough to take in the first round. But you gota look at the beating silva took in their first fight and still come out looking for a punch up each round and still won :) Sonnen goes down once and GG cya!

My question is here is why would Sonnen throw a spinning back fist? I've never seen him pull that move and he's going to try it against the best fighter in the world? If he would have just stuck to what he was doing in the 1st rd and been patient he might of had a chance!

He might've had a small chance, but Silva was clearly not the same fighter as in their previous bout and it's likely that he really did have an injured rib back then. As for the spinning back fist (and Chael explained this), those aren't real, pondered decisions you make when you're in a fight - they're reflex-like responses that your body comes up with in just a split-second. It's hard to blame him for that, he was in the zone.
