Twelve Kingdoms, It's probably the best anime I've ever seen, and I've been around.
Twelve Kingdoms Trailer
Bit of drama/action/fantasy but the story is just so captivating overall, was around 40-50 episodes IIRC.
It's not that great for people who are new to anime, but if you've seen a few I'm sure you'll like it and if you don't you should burn in hell :)

For Manga I'd recommend the following;

For anyone that has been watching Fairy Tail for the last year and a half or so - I've been reading the Manga and decided to start watching the anime again (Started from 1 and got to about the fight on the island part, then stopped). I looked at an episode list and resumed at episode 123 or so, as that's after the 7 years pass. The episode after that was a filler. So it is worth watching from 124 to the current episode? Or are they just fillers?
