I've got a lot of questions about the haste vs mastery issue, and had no time to test it out properly. Now i did and the results are that you want to go for
Int > Haste (10%) > Mastery > Haste > Crit in Dungeon 5 man gear at around 460 ilvl~~
Once you hit T14HC gear, the official simcraft scalefactors involve Mastery being our best stat, better then intellect on gems.
As soon as i went under 10% haste i got lower output and above 10% haste it wanted me to reforge mastery.
Scale factors in my current gear above 10% haste is
Intellect 3,63 x 160 Gem = 580,8 Mastery 1,64 x 320 Gem = 560 Haste 1,49 x 320 Gem = 476,8
So as you can see, intellect gems in 5-Man Dungeon gear is worth it, BUT no slots are barely pure red and you have very good socket bonuses, so aim to get gems with int + hit / mastery above 10% haste.
* Please note we are talking about differences of under 100 dps gains either way, so its just min maxing.
Reasoning behind 10% haste cap
- Corruption and unstable affliction gain an additional tick during bloodlust
