Default Balance Druid vs Dragon Soul 25man Heroic [4.3 GUIDE]

Hello boys and girls! Welcome to Method forum.

My character name is Imsupersdw and im playing in Method for pretty much 2 years now.

After reading the class changes and spending some time doing tests on the Beta, i re-rolled from an Enhancement Shaman to a Balance Druid in the end of WOTLK with our Cataclysm progress in mind.
After going through Tier 11 and Tier 13 as a Balance Druid(personal reasons made me skip t12 progress), today I will share with all of you how do I play in all of the Dragon Soul 25man HEROIC encounters.

Compared to the previous tiers, balance druids utility on this one isn’t really so much about "OMG STACK BALANCE DRUIDS AND WIN", but if you do it right, we're still pretty much up there.

Please, keep in mind that this isn't a "HOW TO PLAY A BALANCE DRUID" guide.
I'm not going to teach you what's the best dps rotation, what's the best dps priority, or what's the best gem for a Balance Druid.
This is more of an advanced guide through the heroic encounters in dragon soul, so if you're reading this, i expect you to at least know the basics.

    this = important
    this = really important

    -------------------

Now, lets start with what everyone is here for:

    Morchok:

    Spec:
This is the spec you will be playing with in the majority of the encounter in this tier. It will give you the most damage output, and will make your survivability good enough with the 2 points in Perseverance.

This is one of those fights where the balance druid utility is really welcome. -15% dmg taken + Barkskin in a 1minute cooldown will really help your healers while soaking Stomps and Resonating Crystals.

This will be highly dependent on your guilds strategy to kill the boss.
Some guilds allow cleave to go on, others tank 1 boss in the USA and the other one in North-Korea. Since the last option is how we do it, I’ll explain to you how I play in that situation.

For starters, make sure that you kill the last trash pack at 90 energy from Lunar to Solar.
Ask your tanks to always use a countdown macro(preferably with a 8secs countdown) so you can pre-cast before every pull.

    Opening + Encounter tips:

Pre-plant the 3 Mushrooms at the boss location
Pre-pot at 3 on the countdown and start pre-casting Starfire right after
    Use your Treants
(this is where you want to use your engineering gloves/racials/whatever you have to use)
Explode the Mushrooms and start you Solar cycle(remember, ALWAYS start with Insect Swarm).

At 90% the boss will "split" into 2, so, if your raid dps is good enough you might want to hold back on getting out of solar, it will most likely cost you 1, 2 Starfires at most in solar, but by doing that you will get a full set of Solar dots running on both bosses at the same time.
This is also the time where you might want to pop your Starfall, even though you won’t be in Lunar, you’ll hit 2 targets and this will be the only time through the whole encounter that you’ll be able to do that.

Make sure that you clip your dots(if they're going to run out while your being grabbed) before the boss casts Falling Fragments and always pick the crystals that are as close to the boss as possible in order to reduce your travel time while running back to the boss.
Keep in mind that you will most likely be able to cast through those packs of 2 crystals, so make sure that you position yourself properly in order to keep dpsing while he’s channeling Black Blood of the Earth.
While running to the crystals, drop 3 Mushrooms at the top of the boss, explode them when you reach the crystal.
While running back to the boss in order to soak the Stomps/Resonating Crystals, drop 3 Mushrooms at the top of the boss and Explode them when you reach Solar or right away(this will be up to you and your knowledge of the encounter/routines of your tank moving the boss).

Since Morchok is a 4:40 to 5:20ish minutes encounter(depending on your raid dps), you will only be able to use your Treants twice, so make sure that you know exactly when the Heroism/Bloodlust is going to be used (most likely at the execute phase) and make sure that you save your second Treants for that, spawning them right before the Heroism/Bloodlust is used.

As a last note, since this encounter requires a lot of movement, make sure that you always clip your Solar dots before Nature’s Grace runs out, and remember to drop Mushrooms from time to time when you see that you’ll be moving a lot in a short amount of time.

    Warlord Zon'ozz:

    Spec:
    Or
First one for the majority of the cases, second one if your guild requires you to use Solar Beam to interrupt one the eyes.

This is again, one of the encounters where the Balance Druid utility is really welcome.
Besides the -15% dmg taken and Barkskin ready for every black phase, this time the 2 points in Perseverance will also help your healers.
Besides that, the Tranquility will be really welcome during one of the black phases massive raid damage.

Once again, this is highly dependent on the strategy that your guild uses on the encounter.
Some guilds use raid soaking for the bounces, other guilds use mages/shadow priests solo soaking and so on.
The second option is how we do it , so, this guide will be based on that.
First things first, make sure that you know EXACTLY how many bounces per phase your guild will be doing, more about this later.

As always, make sure that you kill the last trash pack at 90 energy from Lunar to Solar.

As soon as the ball spawns you’ll soak it once and run into the melee range of the boss, so this is the time where you might want to drop some Mushrooms to Explode them when you reach your next Solar Eclipse.

Now, this is why you need to know EXACTLY how many bounces your guild will be doing per phase:

Make sure that you go for black phases always in Solar.
Be 100% focused on what’s going around in your raid so you know exactly the time left for the ball to hit the boss so you can control your eclipse energy in order to be in Solar for the black phase.
Why? Well, basically you will be dpsing at least 3 targets:
The Flail assigned to your group and the 2 Eyes. Since you need to kill them as fast as possible, doing it in Solar will give you a really important damage boost.

If you have any experience on the encounter, you should know more or less where your eyes/flail will spawn, so you might want to pre-plant 1 Mushroom at each location while you’re moving out of the boss melee range before the phase transition.
Doing that, you will not only instantly damage your 3 assigned targets at the same time as soon as they spawn, but you will also get the 8% spell damage taken debuff up on all of them instantly.

Remember to communicate with your healers so you know if they want your Tranquility during the black phase, and if they do, in which one so you can be ready for it.

All in all, this is a pretty straight forward encounter, the more you practice, the better you’ll get at it.

    Yor'sahj the Unsleeping:

    Spec:
This is the spec you will be playing with in the majority of the encounter in this tier. It will give you the most damage output, and will make your survivability good enough with the 2 points in Perseverance.

    This is basically all I can say about this encounter and balance druids: P A R A D I S E.
Balance druids are really good for this encounter, being it damage-wise or in terms of utility.
Due to our passive -15% dmg taken,Barkskin and Perseverance we’re one of the best classes to soak the Searing Blood from the Red Globule from time to time.

As always, make sure that you kill the last trash pack at 90 energy from Lunar to Solar.

Stand still and keep dpsing the boss until you get the globules combination announcement. At that time, plant 3 Mushrooms at the boss while you’re moving to the assigned globule(explode them when you reach the next Solar Eclipse if you don’t have a Black Globule at that time).

Now, this is where it can get "tricky":
Depending on your level of haste, and if you have DI or not, you might, or might not be able to do your regular dps cycle and still be in Solar for the adds phase if you have a Black Globule.
You will be able to figure this part out as you experience the encounter, if you see that it will be really close, or that you might not be able to do it at all, just play it safe and idle in Solar already while dpsing the globule, don’t risk it, the damage loss will be MASSIVE if you have a Black Globule and you’re not in Solar for the adds.
Anyway, in the majority of the cases you’ll be able to keep doing your rotation normally and still be in Solar for the adds.

Now, to deal with the adds from the Black Globule, I usually get Sunfire in all of them as soon as they are spawning, after that, when they’re all gathered at the boss I use the 1st mushrooms explosion(that were already pre-planted from when I had to move back to the boss), then I plant another set of Mushrooms if I see that ill be able to get the explosion out before the adds die, after that I use a Typhoon and I channel Hurricane until the mushrooms explosion is out of cooldown.
If you have a Black Globule+Yellow globules combo(LUCKY YOU!!!), get both Sunfire and Insect Swarm up on the 2nd set of adds that will spawn.
Regardless of the amount of extra targets, remember that you're "killing" the boss, not the adds, so try to keep your dots uptime on the boss as close to 100% as you can.

At the very first Blue Globule of the encounter, your raid leader will always ask the raid members to use some mana cooldowns, this is when you want to use your Innervate. Make sure that you use the Innervate AFTER you get the priest Mana Hymn buff for more efficiency.
From this stage on, you will always kill the previous mana orb when you get a new Blue Globule, so make sure that you multi-dot the orb, but do it with some caution since you don't want to kill it before the new one actually does the last tick of the mana drain.

As I said at the start, if you have a Red Globule you might want to take a couple of steps back from time to time in order to soak some Searing Blood damage, but remember to keep it safe.

    Hagara the Stormbinder:

    Spec:
This is the spec you will be playing with in the majority of the encounter in this tier. It will give you the most damage output, and will make your survivability good enough with the 2 points in Perseverance.

There isn't really that much to say about this encounter, it’s pretty simple and balance druids are good enough for this. The -15% dmg taken,Barkskin and Perseverance can come handy during lightning phases and while soaking Ice Lances to prevent them from reaching the melees.

As always, make sure that you kill the last trash pack at 90 energy from Lunar to Solar.

Here’s the most important thing that you can do in order to do really nice dps in this fight:
Pray to the RNG GODS so you don’t get tombs 24/7.

No, really, everything is pretty straightforward here, there’s just a couple of tricks that you might want to do:
    - Try to end the transition phases always at the start of Lunar, as in, you just entered the eclipse.
Spam Wraths with 100 Lunar Energy if you need to, but MAKE SURE THAT YOU DON’T TRIGGER NATURE’S GRACE and that you don't use any Lunar Energy before the boss is active again since after each transition phase she will get a debuff on her that will increase the damage taken by 100% during 15seconds.
    - Make sure that you have 3 Mushrooms pre-planted at the boss position so you can Explode them right when the boss is active again. By doing that you’ll do some really nice damage even tho you’re not in Solar(thanks to the debuff), and you’ll also get the 8% spell damage taken debuff up instantly.
-By doing the previous steps you’ll get a high Lunar Eclipse uptime when the boss has the damage taken debuff, and you’ll also be in Solar(unless you really fuck it up) when the tombs spawn.

Remember to pre-drop the Mushrooms in the location that your guild sends the tombed players, so you can Explode them instantly as soon as the tombs are up.

    Ultraxion:

    Spec:
This is the spec you will be playing with in the majority of the encounter in this tier. It will give you the most damage output, and will make your survivability good enough with the 2 points in Perseverance.

    We suck.
Equally skilled players from other classes/specs will always give a better use to that raid spot than us(especially if you don't have DI).
Really good job Blizzard for completely removing Owlkin Frenzy procs specifically from this encounter, really, thank you for removing the only factor that was letting us be competitive enough in this encounter during the PTR, GJ bros.
    NOT.
Just another pathetic decision, nothing new....

Anyway... all I can tell you about this encounter is that you’re good enough to soak Hour of Twilights.

As always, make sure that you kill the last trash pack at 90 energy from Lunar to Solar.

Make sure that you know your connection well enough so you can delay the use of your Heroic Will on the Hour of Twilight / Fading Lights.
The earlier you use it, the more dps you lose, so you should always aim the use for the very last second, 0.5secs left should be good enough.

You can't really fuck it up on this one, it's a dps/healing check, have fun doing your regular single target cycle while using an extra keybind from time to time.......

On a final note: This is another encounter where you’ll only use your Treants twice, so, if there’s a 2nd Heroism/Bloodlust going on in your guild later in the encounter, make sure that you save your Treants for that, and also make sure that you know exactly when it is, so you can spawn them right before they pop it.

    Warmaster Blackhorn:

    Spec:
This is the spec you will be playing with in the majority of the encounter in this tier. It will give you the most damage output, and will make your survivability good enough with the 2 points in Perseverance.

    Fuck yeah, back to PARADISE!!
Balance druids are awesome for everything in this encounter.

This will once again be highly dependent on the strategy that you guild uses, but regardless of it, try to convince your raid leader that you’re the class that shouldn’t be assigned to anything besides DPS everything that moves and soaking Twilight Onslaught(of course, you can help soaking some Twilight Barrages here and there when you’re close to the other soakers).
    No, really, do it.

Being able to move freely around the boat and help to soak a couple of Twilight Barrage will increase your awareness, and will improve your camera angles so you don’t lose any second of DPS on the new targets, which will also result in an overall DPS increase.

This goes specially for those druids still living in the tier 11(like me!), if you know what i mean!

There’s no trash here, so, you "can’t" really control the energy that you start the encounter with.
It will be based on your energy from the point where you killed Ultraxion.
For this boss I really recommend you to reset your energy bar if you just killed ultraxion and you’re in Lunar Eclipse.
If you’re in Solar, neutral, or going from Lunar to Solar already outside of the Lunar Eclipse, then it’s all good.

    Opening + Encounter tips:

Pre-plant 3 mushrooms in the location where the Twilight Elite Slayer and the Twilight Elite Dreadblade are going to be tanked, and explode them as soon as you reach Solar.

Basically, make sure that you start the encounter in a position where you can dps the Twilight Assault Drakes as soon as they’re in range(remember to pre-pot).

You want to get into Solar Eclipse as soon as possible, after that, maximize your dps on the Twilight Assault Drakes until you reach 5 solar energy(don't risk it if you have the legendary staff, stop it 1 cast before). After that, just idle in Solar until the 2nd phase of the encounter starts.

From phase 1 to phase 2 you want to double dot up everything that moves.
Dot both of the Twilight Assault Drakes as soon as you have them in range, dot both Twilight Elite Slayer and the Twilight Elite Dreadblade, dot and dps the Twilight Sapper(max prio), and do your max dps on the Twilight Assault Drakes, just make sure that you have 100% uptime on your dots on all of the alive targets.

Make sure that you're playing properly focused, this encounter can be really tricky if you're not focused enough.
The Twilight Elite Slayer and Twilight Elite Dreadblade charges can be deadly after soaking a Twilight Onslaught or if they both charge the same location.
All you need to do is keep an eye on the floor of the boat, and you'll be able to see the animation that indicates where they're going to charge. Just move left or right in order to avoid it, don't try to out-range it.

When you reach phase 2 dot up Goriona as soon as she’s in range and go all out on her with our standard single target cycle.
Multi-dotting her and the Warmaster Blackhorn will be up to your guild, you might be able to, or they might want to keep Warmaster Blackhorn as high as possible before Goriona flies away.

The closer you are to Warmaster Blackhorn, the easier it is to dodge the Shockwave, but make sure that you’re at least 11 yards away from Warmaster Blackhorn, since you don’t really want to be spell locked for 8 seconds when he casts Disrupting Roar.
Make sure that you have your Barkskin ready for a late Phase 2 Disrupting Roar.

Your healers might ask you for a Tranquility later in the phase 2, make sure that you're ready to use it if they ask for it.

    Spine of Deathwing:

    Spec:

Not a mage/rogue? Sry bro, this is not for you.
That’s all you need to know for this encounter.

Ok so, before everything, I killed this boss playing a mage, not the druid, but everything should be accurate since I also had a decent amount of tries on the boss playing the druid.

At first, reforge for FULL MASTERY, yes, that’s right, full mastery(after the hit cap).
Switch your gloves enchant, re-gem and all of that if you’re still progressing through the encounter.
Your dps that will matter the most will be done while on eclipse, and you won’t have any problems to reach those eclipse states so yeah, go full mastery.

Don’t use any proc trinkets. Use 1 on-use trinket: Bottled Wishes or Rune of Zeth if you don’t have enough valor points.

    Opening + Encounter tips:

Pre-pot at 1 on the countdown before your raid leader starts the encounter
Spam your escape key and your /cancelaura Parachute macro.

Now, this part will depend on your guilds strategy, it might be different so make sure that you don’t follow everything strictly if you realize that you guild isn’t doing the same.

As soon as you cancel your parachute dot the top left, top right and bottom left corruptions.
Dps them by this order: top left, top right and bottom left.
After you kill the bottom left one, move to the left and barrel-roll(Barkskin while you’re inside the hole and have the Grasping Tendrils debuff).
After the roll, dps the bottom right Corruption as fast as you can.

The rest of the encounter will be based on your assign, you can be assigned to kill bloods, or to dps the amalgamations.

If you’re assigned to kill bloods, idle at 5 solar energy from Solar to Lunar.
When you kill the 5th/6th blood start doing your regular single target cycle on them and go from Solar to Lunar, and from Lunar to 90 energy already outside of the eclipse(it will take you 1 Starfire to get into Solar).

At this point all you can do is dot targets and cast Wraths/Explode Mushrooms.

After you kill the 9th blood your tank will soak them all with the amalgamation, this is where you want to have your 3 Mushrooms pre-planted as close as possible to the armor where the tendon will spawn.

Right before the amalgamation starts casting the Nuclear Blast(make sure that you’re at least 11 yards away from the amalgamation since you don’t want to die from it), cast 1 Starfire to get yourself into Solar Eclipse and pop your Treants(make sure that you keep them close enough to you so they don’t die right away).
    Don’t do ANYTHING ELSE YET.
As soon as you see the armor opening animation pop your cooldowns and your on-use trinket, and explode the Mushrooms as soon as the Tendon is targetable. Insect Swarm, Sunfire, and Wrath/Starsurge the shit out of that tendon while praying for some Shooting Stars procs!
All of this is for the 1st plate only.

On the 2nd and 3rd plates you will most likely be able to improve your damage on the tendon, since now you’ll also have bloods alive at the same time that you’ll be dpsing the tendon.

Now, here’s what you’ll want to do on the 2nd and 3rd plates:
Do exactly the same as you did on the 1st plate, but right now, instead of idling at 90 energy from Lunar to Solar using Wraths and dots on the last bloods/amalgamation waiting for that last Starfire to get into Solar, you want to double dot every single blood that has high HP.
Don’t start it too soon though since you don’t really want them to die away from your guilds specific position.
Also, be aware of what you're doing, don't just mindlessly dot them all, do it properly and do it in the correct targets since as i said, you don't want them to die, and you don't want to get aggro.

When you’re done with your dots, the amalgamation is probably sucking the bloods up already so you’ll be at that stage where you want to cast the last Starfire and stand still doing nothing after that.
Always remember to pre-plant the Mushrooms as close as you can to the plate where the tendon will spawn.

For the tendon, you still do exactly the same as on the previous ones:
As soon as you see the armor opening pop your cooldowns and your on-use trinket, and explode the Mushrooms as soon as the Tendon is targetable.
Insect Swarm, Sunfire, and Wrath/Starsurge the shit out of that tendon while praying for some Shooting Stars procs!
But this time you’ll have a high amount of dots rolling on other targets, which will increase your chances of getting shooting stars procs.

    So, now you might ask:
but why all of that trouble with delaying the eclipse and shit, specially when I’ll be dotting extra bloods on the 2nd and 3rd plate?
Basically, because you want to have your Nature’s Grace ready for the tendon, and you want to have the higher amount of solar eclipse uptime as you can on the tendon.
The extra dots on bloods for the 2nd and 3rd plates don’t really matter, you’re not on that fight to aoe bloods like a hero, you’re there to do the max dps that you can do on the tendon, while maximizing your dmg on everything else.
By doing it like that, you can still double dot amalgamations and spam Wrath, and double dot bloods on 2nd and 3rd plates without proccing Nature’s Grace(even if it procs, after coming out of cooldown, it will reset as soon as you reach Solar).
If you went for Solar before all of this, you would’ve either wasted your Nature’s Grace by dotting targets, or you wouldn’t be able to be effective and maximize your dmg on the other targets because you would only be able to cast Starfire in order to stay at 100 Solar energy and with Nature’s Grace ready for the tendon.

All in all, un-eclipsed Insect Swarm+Moonfire+Wraths > Solar Eclipse Starfire idling.

By doing all of this, you’ll be able to deliver a good amount of tendon dmg to your raid, not as good as rogues/mages, but still decent.

Btw, one small tip: DON'T USE STARFALL AT ALL!

    Madness of Deathwing:

    Spec:
This is the spec you will be playing with in the majority of the encounter in this tier. It will give you the most damage output, and will make your survivability good enough with the 2 points in Perseverance.
But for this encounter, replace Glyph of Rebirth(if you have enough druids to cover your ress) with Glyph of Hurricane if your raid needs your slow on the last phase for the congealing bloods.
If you're the one that is keeping slows up, going with Glyph of Hurricane is WAY MORE EFFECTIVE than having to spec for the Mushrooms Slow and use them as a slow ability instead of a burst damage one.

    PARADISE AGAIN FUCK YEAH!!!!
So yeah, this is another encounter where we’re really good at.

Once again, you’ll want to go FULL MASTERY(after the hit cap) so don’t bother fixing all of your gear after you killed spine.
Basically you want to go full mastery because you’ll have Nozdormu’s buff for the major part of the encounter, and because you’ll have a high Solar Eclipse uptime while dealing dmg to multiple targets.

    Opening + Encounter tips:

    Assuming you’re with neutral energy:
Pre-plant 3 Mushrooms where the arm tentacle will spawn
Pre-pot at 1 in the countdown and use your Treants
    Insect Swarm+Moonfire the arm tentacle,
Insect Swarm+Moonfire the arm tentacle in the platform at your left
Starfire till Solar on your main target
explode the Mushrooms when you reach Solar
Insect Swarm + Sunfire on your main target
Insect Swarm + Sunfire on the arm tentacle in the platform at your left.
At this time the Mutated Corruption should’ve spawned already, so focus on it.

Remember to pre-plant 3 Mushrooms at the location that your guild assigned the players to spawn the Corrupting Parasite and explode them as soon as it spawns, then dps it down since that’s your primary target.
Remember to re-plant the Mushrooms at the parasite spawning location.

When the Regenerative Bloods spawn, keep an eye on your timers and check the time left for the next Corrupting Parasite.
Basically you want to try to have all the bloods double dotted when the 2nd parasite spawns(DON’T prioritize DOUBLE dotting them if your dps is still required on anything else).
When the parasite spawns, double dot it and explode your Mushrooms(bloods will be tanked on top of it), Typhoon and channel Hurricane.
Use your Dream when the Blistering Tentacles are up on the 1st platform, your healers will appreciate it.

That’s basically it, repeat the same thing at all of the platforms.

On the 3rd and 4th platform you’ll also need to dps the Blistering Tentacles, so focus on your assigned target and dps it down as fast as you can.

Your Tranquility might be required on the 4th platform, communicate with your healers about it.

On the 2nd phase of the encounter, make sure that you track your Shrapnel debuff and use your Dream when the timer of the Shrapnel debuff is at 3secs left.

Now in terms of dps, this time you’ll need to dps Deathwing, the Elementium Fragments, the Elementium Terrors and the Congealing Bloods.

For the Elementium Fragments, look at the floor around you when it’s time for them to spawn and look for some "fire" zones(you will notice them really easily). You want to plant your Mushrooms at the location with the most fragments and explode them as soon as they spawn. After that multi dot and Typhoon/Hurricane if they’re gathered in order to trigger Spellweave. If they’re too spread just keep doing your regular damage cycle until they’re all down.

For the Elementium Terrors do the classic multidot + single target rotation.

For the Congealing Bloods, once again, look for those "fire zones" in the floor when they’re about to spawn and pre-plant your Mushrooms, explode them as soon as the bloods are up, Typhoon, and channel Hurricane, DON'T dot them.

For this stage of the encounter, you’ll need to have a really good awareness in order to be 100% effective.

This is your dps target priority list through the whole encounter:
    Elementium Bolt
    Congealing Bloods
    Corrupting Parasite
    Blistering Tentacle
    Mutated Corruption
    Elementium Fragment
    Elementium Terror
    Regenerative Bloods
    Deathwing Tentacles

From all of the above, always focus your dps on the one that is alive and ranked higher on the list at that time.

    So, this is it folks.

I will update this guide with videos from my POV through all of the 8 encounters. So make sure that you keep logging back in our forums to check them out!!
I'll release 1 video per week, every saturday
    .
(i might speed it up a bit, who knows!)

Please remember, this a guide for Dragon Soul 25man heroic only, and it’s mostly focused on helping you(and your guild) to progress through all of this encounters.
With this being a Dragon Soul HC 25m guide only, I'm pretty sure that i didn't cover all of the questions that a lot of you might have.

So please, don't be shy and don't hesitate in asking your questions, ill answer all of them.

    You can ask them by:
    - Replying to this post
    - Sending me a pm here on the forums
    - Speaking with me on #Method at irc.quakenet.org
    - Contact me in-game.

That's all i guess. I hope everyone enjoyed it and I hope that it helped you to improve your game.
Thank you all for reading, and I wish you all the best of luck.

    Best wishes, Supersdw.

ps: Make sure that you keep checking this guide from time to time for possible updates, it's still pretty early in the content and a lot of this might change.

Really great guide for me, as I am currently progressing trough DS heroic with my guild as a Boomkin.
As I guess most balance druids were, I got really dissapointed with the Tier 13 4piece setbonus, So I went with a combination with 2 pieces from Tier 12 Hc and Two pieces from tier 13. But now in the next patch ; 4.3.2 blizz are gonna buff the 4piece bonus from tier 13, I quote: "The Tier 13 Balance Druid 4-piece bonus now also increases the damage of Starsurge by 10%, in addition to its current effect." So this will basically make our Starsurge so much better, with 10% extra dmg + 5 sec reduced cooldown. And if you decide to switch to Tier 13 you will also gain 3% dmg from having Insect swarm up on your target, making starsurge hit for 13% more.
So, Imsupersdw, do you think tier 13 will now become better than tier 12HC, espesically for those bosses you are stacking matery on, Spine/Madness, so Balance druids will get a more reliable nuke, wich we havent gotten so far in 4.3, or would you stick with the extremely strong buff from tier 12 to make you be in Either Lunar or Solar eclipse more often , so you can take more advantage of your mastery stacking?

Hello Calýpso, thanks for taking the time reading the guide and asking your questions.

Our t13 4piece bonus is indeed terrible, but anyway, before i start answering your questions i would like to point out that you shouldn't be running 2 t12 + 2 t13, it's a dps loss compared to running 4 t12, regardless of the stats increase that you get with the 2 t13 pieces. Basically, the only time you want to leave your heroic 4piece t12 is when you have heroic 4piece t13, don't switch before that.

As for your questions: the changes to our t13 4piece bonus is basically a 1%ish total dmg increase compared to what we had before, since starsurge is something in between 10 to 12% of our total dmg in a single target encounter(if you have some luck with rng). Tier 13 is already better than tier 12 as i said before, if you have 4heroic pieces.

So, all in all, as soon as you have 4 tier13 heroic pieces you want to do the switch from 4t12 to 4t13.
You might want to switch for normal mode t13 (if you don't have full heroic (391) t12), but only after the patch(im actually not 100%sure about this one, you should do the tests yourself).

I won't be releasing a PoV this week sorry.
I've been really busy on the past couple of days and i had some rendering issues.
To cover it up, i will release 2 PoV's on the next Saturday!

Helo , Supersdw i would be pleased if you could answer some of my questions. For example i have 3101 Haste , because i can't get dark intent in raid but i'm not sure it worth to use 5-6 20int 20haste gems. What would you do ? check it if you have time and pls tell me what would you do with my gear , i just dont know it , because i see every druid try to get 2637 haste + DI so they have +5 tick with NG + Di , but without DI , asi said you need 3101 haste but if i didnt need that much haste i would have a lot more int + mastery . PLease help me.
Furthermore please could share your addons/ui with me ? i realy like it in your POV video.

Changing PC and i'm using t13 now. Since the gameplay changes quite a bit from t12 to t13 ill just record everything again. Don't worry, they will be up soon enough. ;D

Run some different setups on WC, double check everything, but i can tell you that the intellect loss to get the 3101 breakpoint wont most likely be worth it.
Anyway as i said, double check it yourself.
Personally, even if WC would rate it as a dps increase(using 6 int/haste gems, which as i said, i highly doubt it), unless it was a REALLY BIG increase i wouldn't go for it.

On all of your encounters you say use glove(engineering enchant after summoning treants) Why would you do that since you're treants gain from int? Wouldn't it be better to do the enhant before you summon ur treants?
