Hey Xero,

My guild has asked me to roll combat rogue, I understand the mechanics of the class having played it before.

My question is just about KS and AR. What are the optimal times to pop them both? (obviously not at the same time)

I can't really answer what the optimal use is as what I (and the majority of our rogues) do is different to what Elitist Jerks says is 'optimal'. On a tank and spank elitist jerks says to use AR early and then use KS when AR has ran out and you are in red insight. I feel this is a huge waste however as those 5+ finishers you get during AR could have knocked almost a minute off your KS cooldown if you used KS first.

For most fights I use KS as soon as I get into green insight and then hit AR straight after. From then on I just use KS and AR on cooldown, however if KS is coming off cooldown less than 10 seconds after AR I wait and use KS first so the following AR will knock a lot of time off the KS cooldown with restless blades.

I also never use KS with no insight, if I have no insight when it comes off CD I wait until green insight, if I have green insight when it comes off cooldown I wait until either yellow or red depending on the situation.

This advice is for a tank and spank, for Zon'ozz for example it changes as I hold onto my CDs for after the ball hits him so he takes more damage etc.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did think EJ was wrong.

Since you asked, is there anything about the subtlety spec rotation that differs from the EJ thread? I know i'll be using it on some fights (e.g. Morchok)
